HN Technology offers Kitting services for CEM’s and OEM’s. This service allows our customers to outsource their entire quoting, purchasing, inspection, and fulfillment of their project, or any portion of this process. HN Technology has the ability to provide our partners with full quoting spreadsheets populated with the smallest delivery details. HN Technology will procure and stock your materials until your production schedule requires it.

When your production schedules change, we will adapt accordingly. We have affiliations with numerous local value added suppliers including DRA Components and Reel Tape Solutions, which allows us to deliver your kits to production in the packaging our customers require, as well as programmed and tested if necessary.
 

Excess

Management Programs for Excess Inventory:

Market Analysis: With over 20 years of industry experience, HN Technology is an expert dealing in the electronic component open market. This experience combined with our global database of sales history and our in depth knowledge of the market’s participants gives HNT the ability to identify trends and specific opportunities and to immediately assess the liquidity and value of any lot of material.

Consignment: A program where HNT takes possession of excess inventory at our site offers many advantages. Consignment allows the HNT sales team to contact our customers with full information and total confidence. This allows our team to answer all the normal questions customers have without burdening our OEM vendors to check for detailed information. Knowing product is in our stock and ready to ship gives potential customers greater incentive to integrate the consigned material into their supply chain. HN Technology and our highly experienced team are committed to vendor satisfaction; we take pride in proactively marketing our consignment situations. HNT supplies monthly reports detailing activity with the excess inventory and a reconciliation of the consignment inventory.

Outright Bid: If there are offerings of similar inventory in the market or radical technological changes that make potential resale unpredictable, HNT can supply a bid based on speculation. The advantage of an outright sale of inventory is that the OEM vendor will be able to immediately get their return on their excess.

On-site Marketing: Many of the same benefits of consignment can be reached through an on-site marketing program allowing the OEM vendor to keep product. In some cases HNT can supply an on-site specialist to assist in identification and shorting time to market.

Shortage Purchasing: This is the traditional situation where most OEM’s conduct business with independent distributors. A few examples of situations where this service is required are:

  1. The scheduled demand for a certain component has just increased and the lead time is longer than the scheduled start time for the production run.
  2. The lead time of a component on order has been pushed out.
  3. Manufacturers alert you that certain parts have gone on allocation.
  4. Your sales department has just promised a delivery that cannot be met with current lead times.

HN Technology will source your requirements throughout the globe using our database, knowledge and vendor relationships to secure the parts that you need at a competitive price from reliable sources.

Cost Saving Opportunities: As a legitimate alternative to the “traditional” purchasing model (placing your orders with franchise distribution, directly with the manufacturers, or rep agencies), HN Technology will source your requirement in the open market and locate confirmed inventory from reliable vendors. In doing so, there is the potential for significant cost savings. In over supply market conditions, this is a valuable alternative to use.

Another service that HN Technology offers and has had much success with our customers is Bill of Material (BOM) cost reduction review. With this service, our customers will supply a BOM and allow HNT to go into the market to locate inventory from reliable vendors to offer to our customers for cost reduction opportunities. HNT can be proactive in approaching our vendors and locating line items where a significant cost savings may be achieved. Total BOM savings of 20-30% are not unusual and can often times be achieved by substituting our lower cost inventory on only 1 or 2 line items.
